In Doll Tests, children identified the Black doll as bad and ugly.
Mama Doll witnessed a televised Doll Test on the Oprah Winfrey show in 2006. The following year, she threw what was meant to be a one-time Christmas party called The Black Doll Affair.
Created to empower Black girls, The Black Doll Affair became a social club for Black women to increase their self-steam and grow into kinder human beings and grew into one of the nation's most celebrated and decorated movements dedicated to empowering Black women and girls.
