Black Doll Affair Membership Definitions:
Black Dolls: Stars of our show, The Black Dolls are black women 18 years and older, all shades and sizes. Some Black Dolls are runway fashion models, others are community role models. Their common denominator is to reverse ugly ‘doll test’ results and change the way black girls are perceived. More importantly, the way they perceive themselves.
Porcelain Dolls: The voice of the white doll that black girls showed they prefer in the ‘Doll Test’, Porcelain Dolls are non black women and Black Doll playmates. They band together and board our movement to speak back to little black girls everywhere to say, “You’re beautiful too!”
Black Doll Brotha: As positive male role models, so often missing from the black family, Black Doll Brothas are black men who band together and board our movement to remind a black girl that he thinks she’s beautiful!
Porcelain Pals: To broaden a child’s scope of the world and its multi-cultural people, Porcelain Pals are non-black men who band together and board our movement to remind a black girl that he too thinks she’s beautiful!
